Hervé Orama Barrere has recently been appointed Chairman and CEO of Centrale Danone in Casablanca, replacing Nathalie Alquier, who, after leading the company from 2019 to 2024, will take on new responsibilities within the Group, reports a press release.
Prior to this, Barrere was Managing Director of Danone South Africa and was appointed to oversee the sub-Saharan region earlier this year. His portfolio included brands such as NutriDay, Ultra Mel, Yogi Sip, Inkomazi, DanUp, and FanMilk.
His career at Danone is also marked by management positions in Algeria and Nigeria, where he distinguished himself through his expertise in strategy and management of African markets, having contributed to Danone's development in the infant nutrition and dairy segments.
On the announcement of his appointment, the new CEO expressed his enthusiasm, saying: «Morocco represents a strategic market for Danone. We are confident in this market's development prospects and determined to maintain continued growth in our projects and strengthen our presence».
