NamX, a start-up founded by French-Moroccan entrepreneur Faouzi Annajah, has announced that the patent application for NamX HUV’s hydrogen capsules has been recognized internationally under number W0 2023/203114 A1.
In a post shared on X, Annajah said the patent is for NamX's «Dual Tank Technology» and their «exchangeable capsules process within a vehicle, as well as many other applications».
«As a reminder, our mission is to democratize hydrogen mobility», Annajah said, adding «thanks to innovation, we're going to get there». He continued, stating that «the next stage of industrial demonstration is scheduled for 2025».

Designed with the Italian automotive design company Pininfarina, the NamX HUV features interchangeable hydrogen capsules, which are added to the main tank for a range of 800 kilometers. This system makes it possible to exchange the removable capsules at a station, without «topping up» the main tank. «Instead of batteries, the car is equipped with a fuel cell that generates its own electricity», Annajah previously explained to Yabiladi.
When on sale, the HUV will be «the world's first car with a patented removable hydrogen fuel tank system, which promises to revolutionize the experience» of the clean-energy vehicle, according to NamX. The model illustrates «a large-scale industrial and technological project that aims to achieve human mobility and environmental preservation through green hydrogen».
NamX claims to have «the world's leading industrial and technical partners to ensure that the project is ready for delivery by the end of 2025». To achieve this goal, NamX plans to establish production plants between Europe and Africa, particularly in Morocco.
