Four young people died in a tragic accident that occurred on the night of July 13-14 in the Italian town of Mirabella Eclano, including 19-year-old boxer Bilal Boussadra.

Originally from the southern Italian region of Irpinia, Bilal's Moroccan parents had acquired Italian nationality on his 18th birthday. Last October, he distinguished himself by winning the Italian championship in the Youth 6.35 category, although this victory was marred by racist insults from the opposing team.

From a young age, Bilal Boussadra, who began boxing at six under Sandro Froncillo at the Irpinia Pro Ring club, dreamed of representing his country. Born in Italy, he was soon confronted with the challenges of citizenship, fighting in particular to obtain the right to compete. At the age of nine, he had already been crowned Italian champion, but was not yet recognized as an Italian citizen.

Living in Mirabella Eclano and having studied at the «E. Fermi» school in Sturno, Bilal divided his time between his studies and his passion for boxing.
