A Royal Armed Forces (FAR) drone conducted a new strike on Thursday, August 8, targeting the Polisario militias. The operation, which took place in the Moug El Kalbe area, located east of the Sand Wall erected by the FAR, hit two all-terrain vehicles and a truck. The exact number of casualties and injuries is not yet known, a source close to the matter told Yabiladi.
Meanwhile, a Polisario media outlet confirmed the «complete destruction of two vehicles and a large truck in the liberated territory of the Sahrawi Republic of Moug», claiming that the FAR operation «targeted civilians». However, they did not provide an estimate of the number of victims.
This latest strike follows a similar operation on July 30 in the same area, where a FAR drone killed two members of the Polisario militias. These movements east of the Sand Wall are predictable and appear to be in reaction to France's recognition of Moroccan sovereignty over the Sahara. The Polisario Front had responded similarly following Pedro Sanchez's support for the Moroccan autonomy plan for the Sahara, announced on March 18, 2022.
