Welsh actor Anthony Hopkins celebrated International Cat Day in Morocco, sharing photos of himself playing with a kitten in Ouarzazate.

On Thursday, the 86-year-old star posted photos on Instagram, snuggling with the adorable feline. He captioned the post, «From Ouarzazate, Morocco, with love».

The Silence of the Lambs actor held the kitten in his arms as it looked straight into the camera. He also shared photos of a ginger cat lounging on a bed and acting playfully, along with pictures of other cats.

In the caption of his post, Hopkins tagged a Marrakech-based animal shelter called Help Adopt Moroccan Animals, which provides refuge for street animals at risk. The shelter houses both cats and dogs.

«Sir Anthony Hopkins advocating for our shelter on International Cat Day. Such an honor», Adopt Moroccan Animals wrote in their caption, reposting his photos in a story.

«Thank you so much», they continued, sharing another snap from Hopkins’ post.

Back in June 2023, Hopkins and his wife, Stella Arroyave, partnered with Paws of War. The organization trains and places shelter dogs to serve and provide independence to U.S. military veterans suffering from the emotional effects of war.
