Father of Barcelona star Lamine Yamal stabbed in Spain, hospitalized

Mounir Nasraoui, the Moroccan father of Barcelona star Lamine Yamal, has reportedly been stabbed in Mataro, a town in Catalonia, Spain, according to information gathered by the Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia.

Citing an anonymous source, the newspaper reports that Yamal’s father was stabbed during a fight on Wednesday evening in a parking lot in Mataro. He was subsequently transferred to Can Ruti Hospital in Badalona, a municipality in Catalonia, is allegedly in a serious condition.

The same source suggests that the stabbing may have occurred following a possible altercation involving Nasraoui. The Mossos d'Esquadra investigation unit in Mataro, in collaboration with the municipal police, has already managed to locate several witnesses to the incident, and the first arrests have been made.

The investigation is still ongoing to clarify the exact circumstances of the incident.

Nasraoui is well known in the world of football for his appearances with his son Lamine, who plays as a right winger for La Liga club Barcelona and the Spain national team.
