Morocco : Record 10 million tourists by end of July

The Directorate of Studies and Financial Forecasts of the Ministry of Economy and Finance reported that Morocco received a record number of 10 million tourists by the end of July 2024, an increase of 15 percent compared to the same period last year.

In its latest economic bulletin, the Directorate stated, «Morocco as a destination welcomed a record 2.6 million tourists in July 2024, a growth of 20 percent. For the first seven months of 2024, a new record was set for this period of the year, with 10 million tourists arriving in the kingdom, representing an increase of 15 percent».

Regarding overnight stays in classified accommodation establishments, the Directorate confirmed an increase of 8.4 percent by the end of June 2024, reaching 12.7 million overnight stays. This development covers a notable rise of 13.1 percent to 7.2 million during the second quarter of 2024.

As for tourism revenues, they concluded the second quarter of 2024 with a momentum of plus 9.4 percent, raising their growth to 2.3 percent by the end of last June, after a decline of 4.2 percent at the end of March 2024 and a consolidation of 69.2 percent a year ago.
