Brahim Ghali, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, chaired a meeting of the permanent office of the General Secretariat on Sunday following his return from a visit to East Timor.
In a statement, the body welcomed the «SADR's participation in the Africa-Japan Summit», held in Tokyo from August 23 to 25. The Polisario even praised the «significant achievements obtained by the Sahrawi cause» during this event and acknowledged «the efforts of sister Algeria» in securing a place for the SADR at the summit.
It's important to note that Algeria and the Polisario forced their way into the summit, despite not being officially invited.
However, the Polisario's statement did not address Brahim Ghali's exclusions from the Indonesia-Africa and China-Africa summits. Additionally, the body remained silent about his meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on August 31 in the capital of East Timor.
For the record, a Moroccan diplomatic source told Spanish daily La Razon that the success of the summits with Indonesia and China is due to the exclusion of the Polisario.
