Algeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, met with his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdel Ati, in Cairo on Tuesday, September 10. The discussions were held privately, away from the media and other ministers attending the Arab League's Executive Council session that same day. Algerian diplomacy shared a video on social media of Attaf's «meetings» with several ministers, showing the room where the talks took place.
The Egyptian side released a statement on the meeting between Abdel Ati and Attaf, though it did not specify the topics discussed, apart from the situation in Gaza.
In contrast, the earlier press release from Cairo, following the talks between Nasser Bourita and Abdel Ati, mentioned that their discussions covered «the Libyan crisis, current developments in Sudan, the issue of Nile waters, the situation in the Horn of Africa, and the importance of maintaining security and stability across the African continent, particularly in the Sahel and Sahara regions».
