The Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) is participating for the first time from September 26 to 29, 2024 in the Tourism Expo Japan 2024 trade fair. Established in 2014 in Tokyo, the expo aims to connect tourism professionals from around the world and promote international tourism.

The event will feature more than 1,265 exhibitors from over 80 countries.

ONMT will lead a delegation of tourism professionals during Morocco's participation in this essential trade fair for Asian markets. The delegation includes tourism operators and industry players and is showcasing the tourist attractions of Morocco on a well-appointed 90 m2 stand, reads a press release by ONMT.

The event is expected to attract 150,000 visitors, including more than 15,000 professional visitors, offering the ONMT a chance to enhance Morocco's visibility among Japanese outbound travelers.

Several meetings and encounters are planned during the four days of the show with the leading players in the sector in Japan, including TO H.I.S, which has a significant presence in 60 countries, including Morocco where it opened a branch in 2016.

ONMT officials and Moroccan professionals will also meet with representatives of JTB Corporation, one of the most influential TOs in Japan and internationally. Meetings will also be held with Japan's leading online travel agencies (OTAs) such as Rakuten Travel, which has 30 million active users, Jalan.net, with 25 million active users, and Ikkyu, a platform specializing in the luxury segment, having recorded three million bookings in 2023. These meetings will provide opportunities for the ONMT to build relationships with key players in the Japanese tourism industry and promote Morocco as a desirable destination.
