The regional delegation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection in Tata has reported that a health team, along with local authorities, visited two villages in the province to assess individuals affected by skin diseases that emerged after the recent floods.
In a statement, the delegation confirmed that those impacted received «the necessary ointments and medications for skin irritations caused by insect bites attracted by the floods». They also mentioned that «the work of this team, supported by other specialist doctors, will continue tomorrow», and that «additional medical and nursing convoys will be organized in the coming days».
In addition to these efforts, work is ongoing to disinfect the banks of valleys, ponds, and water basins, which are sources of unpleasant odors and insects that can spread infections.
Some residents in the flood-affected areas have reported skin diseases, which many believe may be linked to the increased mosquito population resulting from stagnant water and dead animals in the region.
It’s important to note that the Tata region has experienced heavy thunderstorms in recent weeks, leading to floods that have caused several fatalities, and the search for missing persons is still ongoing.
