Prince Moulay Hicham of Morocco, the first cousin of King Mohammed VI, has announced that his Lebanese family members had been warmly welcomed in Morocco amidst the ongoing Israeli attacks on their homeland.
In a statement shared on his Facebook account, on Monday, the Moroccan prince expressed his deep sadness over the attacks that had claimed hundreds of lives and displaced thousands of people. «My eyes are tearing, my heart and soul ache for the loss of lives and the destruction that is taking place in my second country, our beloved Lebanon», he lamented.
«What comforts us in the midst of this tragedy is that we have welcomed our Lebanese family members among our people in Rabat», he announced, adding that this wouldn't have been possible without the support of his cousin, King Mohammed VI.
«I am grateful to the brave individuals who worked tirelessly for their departure and deeply thankful to His Majesty King Mohammed VI who made our reunion possible». he wrote. The statement included a photo of his mother, Lalla Lamia Al Solh and King Mohammed VI.
Prince Moulay Hicham is the son of King Hassan II's brother, Prince Moulay Abdallah, who was married to the daughter of Riad Solh, the first Prime Minister of Lebanon.
