On Saturday, October 5, France hosted a meeting between Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani and Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch.
«The meeting provided an opportunity to review the strong fraternal relations between the two countries and ways of developing them, as well as to examine a number of issues of common interest», reports the Mauritanian news agency (AMI).
«The Moroccan Prime Minister conveyed to His Excellency the President of the Republic the greetings of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, King of Morocco, and expressed His Majesty's desire to consolidate bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries», adds the same source.
The meeting between Ould El Ghazouani and Aziz Akhannouch took place in Paris on the sidelines of the 19th summit of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF). Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita held talks with his Mauritanian counterpart, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, in New York on September 25.
