Students at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Morocco have released a press statement voicing strong opposition to the university's decision to host a lecture by Michael Bronstein, described as an «Israeli national» and «Zionist lecturer», scheduled for October 8th at the Faculty of Pharmacy.

More than 1,300 students and alumni have signed a petition condemning the university's ties with Israeli academic institutions, which they accuse of being «involved in the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people».

The students stated, «We condemn in the strongest terms this blatant disregard for our firm and clear position, which reflects the opinion of a significant number of students. We reiterate that this lecturer, whom our university will host, is a prominent and public supporter of internationally recognized war crimes and genocide against the Palestinian people».

The students declared their complete rejection of the lecture and criticized the university administration for disregarding their opinions and legitimate desires. They argued that proceeding with the event constitutes a violation of the principles of ethics and justice that should guide higher education institutions.

The press release appealed to the Moroccan public, media, and relevant parties to amplify the students' voices, as they feel their concerns have fallen on deaf ears within the university administration. The students held UM6P fully responsible for the decision to host Bronstein and pledged to continue their struggle until the university severs its ties with Israeli organizations.
