During a joint press conference with the President of the Canary Islands on October 8 in Rabat, Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita reaffirmed Morocco's stance on the recent European Court of Justice (CJEU) ruling.

«Morocco will not participate in any partnership that compromises its national sovereignty and territorial integrity», Bourita stated. He emphasized that the CJEU's decision is a matter for the European Union to address, adding, «It is up to them to demonstrate their genuine commitment to partnership with Morocco and find a solution to this ruling».

Bourita adopted a firm tone, warning that «anyone attempting to coerce Morocco into political maneuvers is sorely mistaken. Today's Morocco is not the same as yesterday's. We demand to be treated as a partner and respected. No party will secure cooperation or partnership with Morocco through pressure tactics».

In a press release issued shortly after the CJEU ruling, the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that Morocco is not a party to the case and is not bound by the court's decision. The ministry stated that the case involves the European Union and the Polisario Front, which is supported by Algeria.
