The Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) has opened a new branch dedicated to cybersecurity within the College of Computing in Rabat. This three-year program, accessible to students at the Bac+2/Bac+3 level, particularly those from preparatory classes and bachelor's degrees, aims to meet the growing global demand for cybersecurity experts. The program, which opened through an entrance exam in June 2025, positions UM6P as a center of excellence in cybersecurity in Africa.
Students can join the College of Computing either after high school or directly in the third year, and they must go through the same selection process for both campuses. This new curriculum complements the existing offerings in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Professor Rachid Guerraoui, President of the Steering Committee of the College of Computing, emphasized that the opening of this new branch in Rabat reinforces UM6P's commitment to developing skills in strategic digital fields like cybersecurity. He added that this expansion aligns with the vision of creating two centers of excellence in computing: artificial intelligence and machine learning in Benguerir, and cybersecurity in Rabat.
The UM6P College of Computing is dedicated to training the next generation of leaders in digital sciences. With 32 professors, 91 doctoral students, and 239 students, it offers engineering and doctoral degrees in computer science through study programs combining theoretical fundamentals and technological innovations, in line with industry needs.
