Moroccan international Adam Aznou made his debut for Bayern Munich on Saturday during the ninth round of the German Bundesliga against FC Union 60 Bremen. Aznou came on in the 80th minute after Canadian Alphonso Davies was sent off in a match that ended with Bayern Munich winning 3-0, helping the club maintain its lead at the top of the league.
After the game, coach Vincent Kompany praised his young player, saying, «Adam has been excellent in training and with the national team. He can be proud of himself, but now he just needs to keep working».
Aznou shared his excitement about making his Bundesliga debut for Bayern on social media, stating, «There’s no better way to start my career than at the Allianz Arena and with our fans. I'm thrilled to have played my first minutes in the Bundesliga. Thanks to the coach for his trust, and thanks for all the messages I've received».
Several Moroccan national team players congratulated him in the comments, including Achraf Hakimi, Abdelhamid Sabiri, and Chadi Riad. Bayern Munich's sporting director, Max Eberl, also praised Aznou’s talent, saying, «We rate Adam very highly because he has immense potential».

At 18 years and 5 months, Adam Aznou became the youngest Moroccan player to appear in the Bundesliga, followed by his compatriot Ayman Barkouk of Mainz (18 years and 6 months), former Ingolstadt star Nassim Boujellab (19 years and 8 months), and Achraf Hakimi of Borussia Dortmund (19 years and 9 months).
Born and trained in Barcelona, Aznou joined Bayern Munich in 2022. After a season with the U17s, he impressed and was promoted to the U19s, where he scored three goals and provided four assists in 19 games, earning a spot in the Youth League's perfect lineup.
His career accelerated from there, as he made his first-team debut in a friendly against FC Basel in January 2024. A few days later, he was included in Thomas Tuchel's squad for a Bundesliga match. He debuted for Bayern Munich's reserve team before signing his first professional contract last May, which runs until 2027.

In addition to shining at club level, Aznou has impressed with the Moroccan national team. In August 2024, he was called up by coach Walid Regragui for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Gabon and Lesotho.
Before committing to Morocco, Aznou had already played for the Spanish U16 and U17 teams, with two appearances for the Moroccan U15 team.
On September 9, Aznou made his senior debut for the Moroccan national team in a 1-0 win over Lesotho, becoming, at 18 years and 99 days old, the youngest player to be called up for an official match for Morocco, surpassing Jaouad Zairi.
After the match, Regragui praised Aznou’s performance, calling him «the discovery of the match» and adding that the national team has gained a player for the future.
Aznou is versatile, capable of playing as a left-back, defensive midfielder, or left-winger.
