Did the firing of four projectiles by the Polisario in Al Mahbes, in the Sahara, result in civilian casualties, specifically among Moroccan journalists? This is the claim made by several Algerian media outlets, accompanied by photos as alleged evidence.
However, the regional office of the Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra section of the Moroccan Federation of Newspaper Publishers (FMEJ) has strongly refuted this misinformation. In a press release sent to Yabiladi, the FMEJ denounced the Algerian media’s use of a road accident involving two journalists from the Guelmim-Oued Noun region to fuel Polisario propaganda about the alleged attack on Saturday, November 9.
These media outlets published photos of Mohammed Danfour, head of Al-Sakia News, and Ali El Kouri, a journalist with the news website Noon Post, portraying them as victims of rocket fire by the Polisario, even though they were actually involved in a traffic accident.
The FMEJ condemns «a process of disinformation and falsification carried out by Algeria». It concludes its press release by wishing both journalists a speedy recovery.
