The French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Morocco (CFCIM) is organizing the Moroccan-French Economic Days in the regions of Laayoune-Saguia el-Hamra and Dakhla-Wadi el-Dahab.
Nearly 50 French decision-makers, entrepreneurs, and business leaders will participate in this event, offering a unique opportunity to explore the vast potential and investment opportunities in these regions, according to a statement from the chamber.
This event marks a new phase in the Chamber’s regionalization efforts, particularly in the southern regions of the Kingdom. Since opening its regional delegations in Laayoune in May 2017, Dakhla in March 2019, and most recently in Guelmim in February 2024, CFCIM has continued to strengthen the economic partnership between France and Morocco through various actions and initiatives.
The Moroccan-French Economic Days follow the recent official state visit of President Emmanuel Macron during which both countries reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening economic cooperation in strategic, forward-looking sectors.
According to the same source, the event will take place in two phases, starting in Laayoune-Saguia el-Hamra, followed by Dakhla-Wadi el-Dahab.
The event agenda includes presentations on regional development plans, working meetings, and visits to strategic sites. These activities will provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the economic priorities and opportunities in both regions, particularly in sectors such as renewable energy, fishing, water resources, and infrastructure.
«This initiative continues our regionalization strategy», said Claudia Gaudiau-Francisco, President of CFCIM. «We are convinced of the economic potential of the southern regions, and we are fully committed to supporting projects that contribute to their development plan. The Moroccan-French Economic Days offer French companies and Moroccan partners a unique platform to explore investment potential and seize the available opportunities in these regions».
Jean-Charles Damblin, Director General of CFCIM, added, «By organizing these economic days, the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry reinforces its role as a key partner in regional marketing and investment in Morocco’s southern regions. These initiatives complement the Chamber’s ongoing efforts to support regional economic growth and strengthen Franco-Moroccan business ties across the Kingdom».
