Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) officially inaugurated its new academy in Morocco on Monday, marking a significant expansion of the French club's presence in Africa. Located in the Tamaris suburb of Casablanca, the academy has been operational since September and aims to provide high-quality training to Moroccan youth.
According to the club's official statement, Morocco national team star and PSG defender Achraf Hakimi participated in the opening ceremony. During the event, Hakimi engaged with academy students in a Q&A session and officially launched the first training session.
Under the supervision of experienced coach David Boulanger, the academy currently hosts approximately 300 registered students. The facility offers premium training grounds equipped for various match formats and serves both boys and girls aged 4 to 18 years. The training methodology follows PSG's established standards.
The initiative reflects PSG's growing connection with Morocco, which ranks as the club's tenth-largest social media following worldwide with 4.9 million followers. Through Hakimi's charitable foundation, the club has also provided academy memberships to ten underprivileged children, demonstrating its commitment to community engagement.
