In an interview with the Spanish daily El Mundo, Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares denied media reports suggesting that the Citroën C4 and C4X would be produced at the Kénitra plant. These models will not leave the Madrid-Villaverde production site : «This information is 100% false», he reassured.
Nevertheless, Carlos Tavares underlined the «proactive» approach of the Moroccans. In his view, the bureaucratic regulatory hurdles still present in Europe no longer apply in Morocco.
«When you talk to the government, it's not with several ministers, but with one, who then coordinates with the others. In Morocco, you're not a victim of bureaucracy like in Europe, which is a big mess when it comes to regulations».
Costs here are clearly competitive, which «makes it easier to sell cars at affordable prices, with quality and reasonable margins».
