Moroccan-Dutch player Oussama Idrissi, who plays in the Mexican league, helped Pachuca reach the final of the Intercontinental Club Cup. On Saturday, the 28-year-old was one of the teammates who overcame Al-Ahly (0-0) in a semi-final that ended in a penalty shoot-out (6-5). The Egyptian side, featuring the Moroccan trio Yahya Attiat-Allah, Achraf Dari, and Reda Slim, had a two-shot lead. But against all expectations, the Tuzos came out on top.

With the bi-national left-winger, Pachuca now represents the Concacaf zone (North, Central America, and the Caribbean) against Real Madrid, after eliminating Botafogo (Brazil) and the defending African Champions League champions. Becoming the first Mexican team to play in the final of the Intercontinental Club Cup, they will face Los Merengues next Wednesday in Doha (Qatar).

Born in 1996 in Bergen op Zoom (Netherlands), Oussama Idrissi is the second player of Moroccan origin to play in the Mexican league. After the match against Al-Ahly, he told beIN Sports how delighted he was to have won two successive tough matches while honoring Moroccan football in the Latin American championship. «It's an honor for me to play in Mexico», he said, referring to his career with Pachuca.
