Moroccan travelers who escaped from a Turkish Airlines plane at Malta's airport were deported to their country on Thursday, the day after the incident. This measure also applies to their fellow citizen who pretended to have a health problem to force an emergency landing.
According to media sources, Maltese authorities have also imposed a travel ban on the three deportees, meaning they will not be able to return to either Malta or any other European Union country.
The same sources report that those involved were part of a group of about twenty people who were being deported from Turkey to Morocco. Police are still searching for two other individuals who managed to escape from the plane and evade airport security personnel. In this regard, Maltese authorities are cooperating with their Turkish counterparts to identify those concerned.
During the landing, four Moroccan passengers took advantage of the crew's attention to their fellow passenger to escape through the plane's rear door.
