Spain's fresh fruit and vegetable imports from non-EU countries reached a significant milestone from January to October 2024, totaling €2,696 million. This figure accounted for 66% of the nation's total imports in this sector, with the remaining 34%—amounting to €1,390 million—coming from EU countries.

Imports from non-EU countries saw a notable increase of 12%, while those from EU countries rose by 13%.

Leading the charge as Spain's top supplier was Morocco, with imports valued at €801 million, marking a 13% rise compared to the same period in the previous year. France secured the third spot with €426 million, showing a substantial 22% growth.

Peru followed closely with €501 million, also experiencing a 22% increase. Portugal's exports to Spain grew by 19%, reaching €350 million. However, the Netherlands, ranking fifth, was the only major supplier to witness a decline in sales to the Spanish market, with a 3% drop, bringing its total import value to €205 million.
