Rangers FC is on the verge of appointing Moroccan Issame Charai as the first assistant manager to Philippe Clement, the club's coach, according to recent reports.

The 42-year-old is reportedly set to ink a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Scottish club in Glasgow later today. Charai has already attended one of Rangers' training sessions, gearing up for a crucial Europa League clash against Saint-Gilloise on Thursday.

Charai boasts an extensive managerial background. His previous roles include serving as assistant coach at Belgium's KV Mechelen and OH Leuven, as well as Morocco's Under-23 team. Additionally, he has experience as the assistant head coach to Liam Rosenior at Ligue 1 club Strasbourg.

In Glasgow, Charai will reunite with fellow Moroccan Hamza Igamane, who plays as a forward for Rangers.
