French Minister honors Fadila El Gadi and Brahim El Mazned in Morocco

During her official visit to Morocco, the French Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati, honored two emblematic figures of the Moroccan cultural scene. On Sunday, February 16, 2025, during a ceremony held at the French residence in Rabat, Dati decorated fashion designer Fadila El Gadi and the director of Visa For Music, Brahim El Mazned, with the insignia of Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters.

Fadila El Gadi, recognized for her commitment to preserving and modernizing the heritage of Moroccan embroidery and textiles, expressed her gratitude upon receiving this distinction. Her work, which skillfully merges tradition and modernity, has captivated a prestigious international clientele, thus contributing to the global influence of Moroccan craftsmanship.

Brahim El Mazned, a cultural entrepreneur and founding director of Visa For Music, was also honored for his central role in promoting Moroccan music on the international stage. His commitment extends beyond organizing events, including leading capacity-building and artistic awakening workshops aimed at inspiring new generations.

This ceremony is part of Dati's visit, aimed at strengthening cultural ties between France and Morocco. This trip follows the state visit of President Emmanuel Macron in October 2024, during which a declaration regarding the «enhanced exceptional partnership» between the two countries was signed, including specific agreements in the cultural field.
