The public prosecutor at the Fez Primary Court has ordered the detention of a man in his thirties, following charges of «luring a minor, indecent assault without violence, and adultery». His trial is set to begin on March 18.
The accused was arrested after the victim's father filed a complaint, claiming that the man had seduced his daughter, a high school student, and lured her to a residential building near a shopping mall on Moulay Rachid Street, where the crime took place.
Initial investigations revealed that the accused did not use violence, as he confessed to the charges but denied forcing the girl to go with him or engage in sexual activity, according to Assabah newspaper.
Further investigation revealed that the accused was the subject of a national search warrant issued by the Oujda Gendarmerie for writing a bad check. The building owner where the incident occurred was also questioned but denied any knowledge of the situation or that the place had been used for such activities.
Meanwhile, the victim has been charged with «participation in adultery» based on a complaint filed by the accused's wife.
