Washington hosted talks on Monday evening between the Trump administration and Morocco. The U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Iran, Iraq, and Regional Multilateral Affairs met with Morocco's ambassador, Youssef Amrani.
«Productive bilateral meeting (...) Recognizing our strong cooperation on regional issues and commitment to shared goals», the U.S. State Department highlighted on X.
The meeting took place three days after President Donald Trump appointed Duke Buchan III as the new U.S. ambassador to Morocco.
Notably, Marco Rubio, the head of U.S. diplomacy, had called his Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita, on January 27, just a week after Donald Trump’s inauguration.
