Contrary to reports in some media, the Mohammed V Sports Complex in Casablanca has not been sold. An official source from the Casablanca-Settat region confirmed that there is no intention to sell the land on which the stadium stands.

The same source emphasized the stadium’s unique status, underscoring its historical, cultural, and sporting significance, as well as its central role in Casablanca’s identity and collective memory. Legally, the stadium remains the property of the Casablanca municipality, which retains all associated rights in accordance with current regulations.

This clarification follows a report by the daily Assabah, which claimed that the Mohammed V Stadium had been transferred from the Casablanca municipality to the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports. The article alleged that the transaction was approved by the government in May 2024, with a sale price of 38.5 million dirhams for an area of 96,171 m².
