The town of Sidi Taibi, part of the Kenitra province, was struck by tragedy yesterday morning, Tuesday, when the body of a five-year-old girl was found inside a garbage truck parked in the municipality's garage, following her mysterious disappearance.
According to Assabah, the girl's family reported her missing in the early hours of the morning after she had been playing in front of their house. Family members confirmed that the girl had been instructed by her grandmother to go to her parents' home to sleep. However, her sudden disappearance led the family to notify the local authorities.
The Royal Gendarmerie launched a search operation for the girl, with the family and neighbors participating in the efforts. After five hours of searching, the girl's lifeless body was discovered inside the garbage truck, which was parked just ten meters away from the family home.
As the gendarmerie examined the girl's body, they noted scratch marks on her neck, prompting the public prosecutor to issue instructions to transfer the body to the forensic department for a detailed autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Family members and neighbors are currently being questioned for any details that might be related to the incident.
