General Mohamed Berrid, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), is currently on an official visit to Saudi Arabia. On Tuesday, March 18, he toured the headquarters of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition, established in March 2015 by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

«During the visit, the two parties discussed issues of mutual interest and explored ways to enhance their cooperation in combating terrorism», the Coalition stated on the platform X.

It's worth noting that Morocco joined this military alliance in 2015, with FAR aircraft participating in operations against the Houthis in Yemen. However, due to subsequent political and military tensions between Rabat and Riyadh, Morocco decided to «adjust its participation», as explained by Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita in an interview with Al Jazeera in January 2019.

Following directives from King Mohammed VI, General Mohamed Berrid's visit to Saudi Arabia is scheduled to continue from March 16 to 21.
