Morocco : A newborn found abandoned near Mrirt mosque

On Tuesday evening, a newborn baby was found abandoned by the roadside near the Grand Mosque in the city of Mrirt, a town in Khénifra Province. The infant, wrapped in a blanket, was in good health, according to media sources.

Local authorities and forensic police were alerted and have launched an investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office to determine the circumstances and reasons behind the abandonment.

Meanwhile, civil protection personnel transported the baby to the local hospital for necessary care, where the baby will remain until the mother’s identity is established.
