The Casablanca Court of Appeal has sentenced Mohamed Amine Naguib, the fiancé of the French lawyer involved in the high-profile «Bennis-Alj-Slaoui» rape case, to four months in prison. Naguib was found guilty of leaking an audio recording containing accusations against the lawyer representing the Bar Association in Casablanca.

Previously, a lower court had sentenced Naguib to three months in prison after he was convicted of insulting the lawyer and violating the confidentiality of the investigation. This followed the leak of a phone call between him and another person, which included offensive remarks and accusations about the lawyer representing the defendants in the rape case.

During the trial on Friday, the defense lawyers requested that the person who leaked the audio recording on social media be summoned, arguing that this act was the main reason for their client's arrest.

The defense further claimed, «The charge against my client was fabricated to pressure him in the rape case», adding that «the defendant preferred imprisonment over succumbing to these tactics».

The defendant's lawyer also emphasized that «only 35 seconds of the call led to my client's incarceration, even though it was a private conversation and was not shared publicly on media or social media platforms». He pointed out that his client suffers from a serious health condition, as confirmed by a long-term medical certificate.

It is important to note that French lawyer Sixtine Félix, the plaintiff in the Bennis-Alj-Slaoui case, withdrew her complaint on Friday, March 7, 2025, at the Casablanca Prosecutor's Office.

She stated that she was «unconscious» at the time of the incident and that «what she recounted did not match reality» regarding the events of November 2, when Kamil Benis hosted a party at a villa in the Ain Diab area of Casablanca, attended by around 100 people.

Félix had initially accused Bennis and three others—Mohamed Alj, Saad Slaoui, and Ahmed Daghbour—of raping her while under the influence of GHB, the so-called «date rape drug».
