Marine Le Pen, the president of the National Rally (RN) group in the National Assembly of France, called on Bruno Retailleau this Tuesday to ban the Muslim Brotherhood in France. The MP and departmental councilor for the far-right party in Pas-de-Calais reacted on her social media to a statement made by the Minister of the Interior during an appearance on CNews.

«He seems to have precise information about the danger posed by the Muslim Brotherhood. We have been warning about this threat for years. What is he waiting for to ban this organization, this totalitarian movement that is spreading its influence everywhere, even to the heart of the Paris mosque, which was gifted to Muslims in gratitude for the French Muslim soldiers of World War I?» she wrote on X.

During the interview, the minister addressed topics such as the attack on the rabbi of Orléans, antisemitism, the hijab in sports, and «anti-white racism». He notably stated that «Islamism today behaves like fascism did in the past». In previous statements, Bruno Retailleau referred to a report detailing the activities of the Muslim Brotherhood in France, where the Islamist group is allegedly engaging in «entryism» by infiltrating social organizations.

Defending the controversial issue of a total ban on wearing the veil in sports competitions, the minister announced last week that he would «declassify» confidential information suggesting that the movement is actively working to implement «Sharia» in France.

For several months, this report has been cited regarding the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood in France. In December, Bertrand Chamoulaud, head of territorial intelligence, told Le Monde that «while the Salafist movement seeks to impose a strict interpretation of life rules, the Brotherhood's supporters have a more structured agenda».

According to Chamoulaud, this movement spreads its ideas «through entryism and a very smooth discourse», which «does not advocate the use of violence to achieve its goals», but whose ultimate aim is to «eventually turn France and Europe into a caliphate by imposing Sharia».
