Mike White, creator of American dark comedy drama anthology television series The White Lotus, has hinted that the highly anticipated fourth season might take the show to Morocco, specifically to Marrakech. After three seasons set in luxury Four Seasons resorts by the beach—Hawaii, Italy, and Thailand—White teased a shift away from the water for the next installment.

Sources say the production is seriously considering the Four Seasons hotel in Marrakech, with its 40-acre resort in the heart of the medina. The property boasts lush Moorish gardens, the vibrant souk, nearby Yves Saint Laurent gardens, and breathtaking views of the Atlas Mountains—an ideal backdrop for the drama and intrigue The White Lotus is known for.

An HBO insider revealed that White wants to set a White Lotus series on every continent, and Africa is the current favorite for season four. Marrakech, with its exotic appeal and dramatic settings, fits the bill perfectly. «It has everything White Lotus fans expect—heat, exotic locations, and dramatic backdrops», the source told the Daily Mail.

While the show’s team has been in talks about filming in Africa and Australia, Marrakech is emerging as the front-runner. The buzz around Morocco’s unique charm and the city’s stunning scenery could make it the perfect setting for the next season of The White Lotus.

The White Lotus, a critically acclaimed HBO anthology series, first premiered in July 2021 and quickly gained a massive following due to its unique blend of dark comedy, satire, and social commentary. Each season of the show is set in a luxury resort, where a group of wealthy guests and staff members interact in ways that reveal secrets, power dynamics, and societal issues.
