With the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations set for December, Moroccan authorities held a high-level meeting on April 17 at the Interior Ministry to assess progress on stadium works and related urban development projects across the six host cities: Rabat, Casablanca, Tangier, Fes, Marrakech, and Agadir.

The meeting brought together the Minister of the Interior, the Minister Delegate in charge of the budget, FRMF President Fouzi Lekjaa, regional and local officials, and heads of key infrastructure agencies, including ONCF, ONDA, and the National Company for the Construction and Management of Sports Facilities, reads a press release.

Officials confirmed that the pace of construction and rehabilitation work is on track. In parallel, more than 120 complementary projects are underway to improve public transport, upgrade urban infrastructure, and enhance visitor experience around stadiums and fan zones.

Authorities stressed that all measures have been taken to meet deadlines, ensuring that cities are ready to welcome teams and supporters in optimal conditions. The tournament is seen as a strategic opportunity to boost Morocco’s international visibility and showcase its economic, cultural, and tourism assets.
