On Friday, a French delegation led by Michaël Delafosse, the mayor of Montpellier, arrived in Dakhla to explore business opportunities in the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region. The goal is to identify promising projects and strengthen economic, cultural, and sports ties between the two territories.

Welcomed by local authorities, the delegation members were introduced to the major projects shaping the region's future, including the construction of the Dakhla Atlantic port and renewable energy initiatives. They also visited iconic sites such as the Higher Institute of Audiovisual and Cinema Professions.

Impressed by the momentum driven by King Mohammed VI, Michaël Delafosse praised Dakhla's rapid development and announced the upcoming signing of a friendship protocol with the city. The agenda includes promoting water sports, cultural exchanges through festivals, and support for sustainable economic projects.

This local cooperation is part of the new momentum in Franco-Moroccan relations, supported by France's recognition of Morocco's sovereignty over its Sahara. “This partnership will breathe new life into joint initiatives,” emphasized Erragheb Hormatallah, president of the Dakhla commune.
