Six-year-old dies in locked car in Taounate : Investigations underway

Following reports circulating on social media about the death of a child inside a car in Sahel Boutaher (province of Taounate), preliminary investigations ordered by the public prosecutor have revealed that the child, approximately six years old, died inside a car that was transporting him to the school where he was enrolled, according to a statement from the public prosecutor at the Court of Appeal of Fès.

Initial findings by the judicial police suggest that the child may have suffocated after being left inside the vehicle with the doors locked. The driver, who regularly took the child to school, had reportedly left the vehicle, the statement added.

The public prosecutor has ordered an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death and has instructed the judicial police to continue their investigations.
