Paris Saint-Germain, the reigning champions, secured their 16th French Cup title with a commanding 3-0 victory over Reims in the final on Saturday evening at the Stade de France in Paris. The win crowns a domestic double for PSG this season, following their Ligue 1 triumph.
The Parisians wasted no time asserting their dominance, as Bradley Barcola struck twice in the 16th and 19th minutes—both goals assisted by Désiré Doué—before Moroccan star Achraf Hakimi sealed the match with a third goal in the 43rd minute, effectively ending Reims’ hopes before halftime.
In the second half, Luis Enrique’s side managed the game with control and composure, conserving energy as they prepare for the Champions League final against Inter Milan on May 31 in Munich. This marks PSG’s sixth Ligue 1 and French Cup double—a record achievement.
With this victory, PSG cements its status as the most decorated club in the French Cup’s history, becoming the only team to achieve six Ligue 1/French Cup doubles. Individually, captain Marquinhos claimed his eighth French Cup title, setting a new record for a player.
PSG’s triumph also has implications for the European stage: it secures Racing Strasbourg, who finished seventh in Ligue 1, a spot in the Europa Conference League.
For Stade de Reims, the focus now shifts to survival. Finishing 16th in Ligue 1, they must face a two-legged playoff against FC Metz, the third-placed team in Ligue 2, to avoid relegation. After a 1-1 draw in the first leg, Reims must regroup quickly for the return leg if they hope to stay in the top flight.
