Morocco : FDG calls for investigation into ministers named in Jabroot DZ leaks
DR

The Democratic Left Federation (FDG) has called for an investigation into individuals suspected of corruption and the embezzlement of public funds. In a statement released last Friday, the opposition party denounced «conflicts of interest» and «influence peddling», which it described as acts of favoritism benefiting certain individuals or companies.

According to the FDG, these practices serve entities «close to or owned by senior government officials», including ministers. The party also referenced recent leaks from the Algerian hacker group «Jabroot DZ», stressing the «urgent need for action and the launch of a thorough investigation into the issues raised».

These alleged issues involve the misuse of «internal information related to development projects», which may have been diverted for illicit gain. The FDG also cited an alleged «attempt by another minister to avoid paying taxes».

Condemning what it describes as «a serious breach of the integrity and impartiality required of public officials», the FDG pointed to «numerous well-known cases of conflicts of interest» in Morocco. According to the party’s political bureau, such cases «once again expose the depth of endemic corruption within the state apparatus».

In the same statement, the party called for «a national day of mobilization against corruption» and for stronger protections for whistleblowers, while also demanding an end to legal action against them.

In Morocco, earlier leaks published by Jabroot prompted responses from the authorities. Last June, the King's prosecutor at the Rabat Court of Appeal announced that an investigation had been opened following allegations of a cyberattack targeting the Supreme Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ), which involved the publication of two documents allegedly linked to the institution. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Justice denied that its information system had been breached.
