At least 54 unaccompanied minors and 30 adults have swam from Morocco to Ceuta on Friday night, according to local media reports.

The crossings took place throughout Friday evening and into the early hours of Saturday, despite rough sea conditions. Spain’s Guardia Civil, including Maritime Service and GEAS units, carried out continuous rescue operations. Most of those rescued were Moroccan nationals, though at least two Palestinians were also identified.

Many migrants made the journey alone or in small groups using basic flotation devices, resulting in a steady stream of arrivals and nonstop rescue efforts. The children were taken to temporary shelters in Ceuta.

Official figures only account for those intercepted at sea and do not include individuals who managed to reach shore undetected, the same source noted. Authorities acknowledge that the actual number of arrivals is likely higher.
