Moroccan international Anass Zaroury (24) has joined Greek side Panathinaikos on loan from RC Lens for the 2025/26 season, with an option to buy.

The move was officially announced by Lens on August 3 via social media: «Good season, Anass!» the club posted.

Zaroury joined Lens from Burnley in 2024, recording two goals and three assists in 28 appearances last season. He also had a brief loan spell with Hull City earlier that year. Prior to that, he played in Belgium for Lommel and Charleroi.

Born in Belgium, Zaroury represented the country at youth level, including appearances with the U21 team. On November 16, 2022, he was officially called up to the Moroccan national team for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, replacing Amine Harit, who suffered an injury just a week before the tournament.
