A 40-year-old Moroccan woman living in the Spanish town of Jumilla tragically lost her life on Friday in a workplace accident in the province of Albacete, southeastern Spain, according to emergency service sources in the La Mancha region.

The victim, identified as Nadia, was working as a seasonal laborer when a forklift toppled onto her, causing fatal injuries.

Spanish media reported that Civil Guard units, an ambulance, and an emergency doctor were dispatched to the site. An air ambulance was also mobilized but did not intervene after medical personnel confirmed her death at the scene.

Nadia had been planning to travel to Morocco the day after the accident and had already purchased her return ticket to her hometown.

The Spanish Workers’ Commissions union expressed deep sorrow over her death, displaying a black ribbon on its platforms and calling for urgent action to end workplace fatalities.
