Dutch suspect wanted by Belgium arrested in Tangier

Security services in Tangier arrested a 23-year-old Dutch national on Sunday, August 10, who was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by the Belgian judicial authorities.

The suspect was detained in one of the city’s neighborhoods after an identity check through the Interpol database confirmed he was internationally wanted. He is suspected of involvement in a criminal gang accused of carrying out an armed robbery and kidnapping an infant.

The detainee has been placed in custody as part of the extradition process, while Belgian authorities have been notified to submit the formal extradition request.
