The United Nations has lauded the «generosity» of King Mohammed VI, President of the Al-Quds Committee, following his directive to send additional «significant» humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.
«We commend the decision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to provide substantial humanitarian aid to the residents of Gaza», said Stéphane Dujarric, spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General.
He underscored the impact of this royal initiative amidst «catastrophic» living conditions. «The people of Gaza lack everything – food, medicine, shelter…» he lamented, urging the international community to «do everything possible» to alleviate the suffering and to intensify efforts for an immediate ceasefire.
The aid ordered by the King includes approximately 100 tons of food and medicine, primarily aimed at the most vulnerable groups, especially children and infants.
As President of the Al-Quds Committee, the King ensured that this aid, like previous shipments, was delivered by air and distributed directly and urgently to the Palestinian beneficiaries.
