King Mohammed VI grants royal pardon to 591 individuals on Youth Day
DR

In celebration of Youth Day, King Mohammed VI has extended a royal pardon to 591 individuals convicted by various courts throughout the Kingdom, as announced by the Ministry of Justice.

Of these, 445 are currently serving time. Three individuals received a full pardon for the remainder of their sentences, 441 had their sentences reduced, and one life sentence was commuted to a fixed-term sentence.

The remaining 146 beneficiaries were not in custody. The pardon affected 39 people who had been sentenced to imprisonment or had the remainder of their sentence pardoned, eight who had their prison sentences lifted while their fines remained, 91 who were fined only, and eight who faced both imprisonment and fines.

This gesture of clemency, as is customary, underscores the royal commitment to citizens who have demonstrated signs of reform and a willingness to reintegrate into society.
