On Thursday, the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR) dismissed claims made by the Spanish newspaper Gaceta. The publication alleged that one of the Islamists arrested in Vallfogona de Balaguer (Lleida) had been granted a royal pardon in Morocco.
The DGAPR clarified that the Moroccan national in question was sentenced on March 28, 2017, to six months in prison for incitement and glorification of terrorist acts, as well as for being a member of a terrorist organization. He completed his entire sentence by September 16, 2017, without receiving any form of pardon.
The DGAPR strongly asserts that these allegations are «completely unfounded», characterizing them as an attempt to disrupt the cooperative and amicable relations between Rabat and Madrid.
