Russia has extended an offer to assist Morocco in safeguarding its energy infrastructure from cyberattacks. This proposal was formally presented during a meeting between Roman Marshavin, Russia's Deputy Minister of Energy, and Mohamed Oumed, the Secretary-General of Morocco's Ministry of Energy Transition, as reported by Russian media.
«We are ready to demonstrate how our energy infrastructure is secured against computer viruses and other threats. We can share our advancements and protection methods. We are convinced that our two countries have great potential for cooperation.»
It's worth noting that Morocco has recently been the target of cyberattacks aimed at compromising the data of the National Social Security Fund (CNSS) and the National Agency for Land Conservation, Cadastre, and Cartography (ANCFCC).
This week, Moscow played host to the third meeting of the Working Group on Energy Cooperation between Morocco and Russia. The discussions also focused on collaborative projects in the gas sector, the modernization and construction of electrical infrastructure, as well as the production of renewable energy.
