The Spanish Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food, Luis Planas, has defended the import of Moroccan agricultural products into the European market, emphasizing that they undergo rigorous border inspections. This statement came in response to accusations from People's Party Senator Lorena Guerra, who alleged «unfair competition» benefiting Morocco.

During a parliamentary session on Tuesday, Planas, a member of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party, criticized the People's Party for «echoing the rhetoric of the Vox Party», which is known for its antagonistic stance towards Morocco.

He remarked, «You might even end up positioning Vox to your left». Planas argued that questioning the entry of Moroccan products effectively challenges the «professionalism of the public officials» tasked with these inspections, according to a report by Spanish media.
