Morocco U-20 stuns Brazil to reach World Cup round of 16

The Moroccan U-20 national team has qualified for the round of 16 at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile, following a historic 2-1 victory over Brazil on Thursday at Santiago’s Julio Martínez Prádanos National Stadium in the second match of Group 3.

The young Atlas Lions delivered a heroic performance, capped by two superb goals, winger Oussama Maema struck in the 60th minute, followed by striker Yassir Al-Zubayri in the 75th.

In the final moments, the referee awarded Brazil a penalty after a VAR review, which the Brazilian captain converted, narrowing the score.

With this result, Morocco tops Group 3 with six points, ahead of Brazil and Mexico (two points each) and Spain (one point).
